None, unfortunately. I grew up on a space station, but we didn't really have ship travel. Other people handled the only two rides I ever took.
But I'm familiar with tech as a whole.
[ A necessary thing to state, since it's not necessarily a given on the Danäe, considering the ancient warriors the anomaly had spat out onto the ship.
Thanks. Just seemed like it might be a good plan as a safeguard, considering people come and go, and if I'm gonna be living on a ship now... well, you know. Good to know what to do with your surroundings.
[ the danäe is his first time with a texting system ok he's still learning ]
Just a little bit younger than I'm used to. But I've seen a seventeen-year-old start learning the sword and wind up one of the most capable warriors I know, so I get it. People underestimate teens. And desperate times, desperate measures, something like that.
Great. Tomorrow morning, maybe? I got all the free time in the world. Although I don't know if there's anything you have to do to... check out a ship for practice? Schedule it or something?
[ and tomorrow morning, bellamy blake is on time, just as promised.
his stint with the guard back home on the ark was short enough, but it was enough to make him rigid and obedient; he listens and follows orders and shows up at the crack of the bell, used to jumping through hoops in the hopes of not being kicked out of the prestigious assignment. when he walks into the hangar bay, he looks around a little goggle-eyed and awed — he's never seen a room like this before — until he shifts his attention, looks around for the only other person present at this hour. the cobbled-together crew of the danäe isn't large enough that they have a constant rotation here, just yet, so he's assuming the orange-skinned girl has to be... ]
[ ahsoka turns to face him, her lekku shifting over the shoulders. unlike many on the ship, ahsoka is very much non-human. her lack of ears, the montrals large and pointed. she smiles warmly at him, congenial. ]
[ when she turns to look at him, he does a visible double-take, caught off-guard. from behind, he'd thought her lekku were some sort of head garment. it takes him a moment before he manages to sweep the surprise off his face, but then he reaches out and catches her hand and shakes it— at least that little ritual remained the same. ]
Hey. Yeah. Hi. I'm Bellamy.
[ she's literally the first non-human he's ever met; her appearance was subtler than the fairly obvious six-foot black dragon sprawling around the ship. he wrangles his expression back under control. ]
Sorry. I wasn't expecting— You're, uh, the first...
[ ahsoka smiles warmly, though there's the slightest hint of a knowing smirk around the corners. it's been a while since she's had this reaction but she knows it well. ]
Togruta? I know. The same can't be said for humans, I'm afraid.
I guess I shouldn't have assumed, since we literally just encountered aliens in this sector, but— I still didn't think of it.
[ And if they exist here, then who's to say the Anomaly couldn't yank other non-humans through? It seems so obvious to him in hindsight, but he's still kicking himself for it. ]
Well. Hopefully we're not too annoying. [ He flashes her a smile, then paces a little further into the hangar, head now craned backwards to look more closely at the fighter ships docked in the Danäe. ]
This is more or less the same. In my experience, the main divergence in space flight is fuel and engine. Piloting, thankfully, seems to be the same everywhere.
[ He clambers in, settling into a position where Ahsoka's in the pilot's seat to begin with; best to have the expert at the controls first, showing Bellamy the ropes. ]
It does seem kind of insane that Perseus just... trusts people and lets us have these. Seems like someone could theoretically just hop in and start shooting up the hangar.
One of my friends was our go-to pilot back home so I'd started thinking she might be able to teach me, but— well, she vanished again a while back. The Anomaly.
I don't think you can. At least not really. He still has real control over the ship.
[ which still leaves her with mixed feelings. nothing against perseus, ahsoka has trusted droids with her life. but she's never been comfortable with not charting her own course. ]

How long have you been flying?

It was a unique situation. My master served as a general and as his padawan, I was obliged to follow him where he went.

Hey. Morning. Are you Ahsoka?
Re: → action
You must be Bellamy.
[ she holds her hand out for him to shake. ]
Ahsoka Tano.

My world's more like a galaxy, but there are humans everywhere. You can't miss them.

How do these compare to the ones you're used to?

That's him. He was my teacher in the Jedi Order before I left.
